The BAE72-S is used to trigger a fire damper to its safe position when a preset temperature threshold is exceeded. It’s typically installed in ductwork and connected to a 24V spring-return actuator. When activated, it cuts power to the actuator, allowing the spring mechanism to close the damper automatically.
